pull up a cozy chair

This week I feel we should just pull up some chairs and gather together and drink a cup of something warm, whether tea or coffee. The weather is getting pleasantly chilly and it seems like a perfect opportunity to let our guards down and open up.

Sometimes life is tough. Sometimes life can be full of absolute joy while incredibly painful at the same time. The really cool part is that our loving God understands that and is always listening and always understanding. We are never out of reach and we are never invisible to Him.

When we feel like failures at school, lose at work, miss the job we interviewed for, yell at our precious children, feel scared for the future, feel alone, feel like nobody understands, He does understand and gets every part of us. He hears us. Sometimes that is what we need to hear. He hears us.

So many just make it through everyday. So many just barely getting by. You may feel like you have nothing left. He is here to lift you up and carry you. Through the Old Testament, we see the loving character of God as He is patient with the Israelites even when they serve other gods and disobey…many times over! In the New Testament, we see the epitome of love as He stretched out His arms and took the nails on the cross for all our sin.

Through each day, no matter what struggles you face or joys you experience, your loving Father cares. It is comforting to know that He also hears us when we talk to Him. We have confidence knowing this is true.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

1 John 5:14

I have no idea what you are going through at this moment, but nobody is immune to hardship. For those girls who did not have an earthly Father from whom to receive love, you have a heavenly Father who truly cares about you. For those who feel abandoned, He will never leave you. In everything you experience, He has it all. Rest in Him and know that He is God.

I know this is a little shorter than usual, but I think someone needs to hear this today. I see so many people struggling, yet we like to keep it all hidden and throw pictures up on social media that make life appear great. Feel free to open up and let people in. Feel free most of all, to let your Savior take your stress and worry for you and rest in Him.

Love,

Charis
